Sun/star alternate textures

Is there a way one can use alternate textures with stars or the sun similar to using alternate textures with planets
using altsurface feature or similar in celestia 1.5.1 for Windows?
I appreciate any help or answer you may give me.

Not as AltTextures, but one can specify a different surface texture.
