I'm using version 12.5 and downloaded the 8192x4096 earth and mars textures from t00fri's Texture Foundry. First I try on my Dell laptop with a Nvidia Gforce 4 Go with 64 Mb of video RAM and everything works great. Earth and Mars looks beautiful. Then I try on my desktop computer that uses an Nvidia Geforce 4600 TI with 128 Mb of video RAM. I can see Mars without problems but when I move to Earth the program crash with Celestia's window going completely white. Doing some troubleshooting I found that the problem happens when I activate pixel shaders from the Render menu. Again this is not happening on my laptop that uses a lesser video card.
Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Best regards
Edil

I'm sorry I forgot to mention that both computers have the latest detonator drivers installed. 41.09.
Just to clarify the problem happens only viewing earth and only if I turn pixel shaders on. If I turn pixel shader off, I can see Earth using the high resolution texture. Without pixel shader on the clouds looks gray and black.
I will try the file that you mention. I will appretiate any other ideas.
best regards

What kind of textures are you using. If the textures are large png files then you might need to add the compress texture true line in your solarsystem.ssc. If you are using .dds textures make sure you don't have the line compress texture true enabled. If you do it will crash when try ing to load a .dds. Hope this helps.

I might answer a PM or a post if its relevant to something.
Ah, never say never!!
Past texture releases, Hmm let me think about it
Thanks for your understanding.
