New Chris Laurel Article woven-media.com

Post #1by Epimetheus » 25.05.2008, 03:28

I just wanted to let all those interested know that I've posted an article regarding some of my email conversations I've had with Chris Laurel recently. I was actually fortunate enough to have one of my code submissions accepted by Chris. You can now use X11 colors in your celx docs and cel scripts.

Article: http://www.woven-media.com/

Thanks in advance!

Wow, thanks duds! I'm very encouraged by all this! I plan on writing more...time permitting.

If anyone has any obscure Celestia resources or links, let me know, I'll post them to my site.

Thanks for the support,

Umm... I don't have any obscure links, but if you're looking for an idea for something to write about - I have one. There are several developers here at Celestia, each with their own unique background, technical expertise, and addon contributions (from science fiction to science fact). Just take a look through the Motherload addons at all the marvelous work achieved by these people! I'll let you take it from there. :D

Appreciate it lordferret!,

28 May 2008 UPDATE: I've posted some corrections to my article for those interested. I had written that Celestia had been downloaded over two million times -- it's well over six million! This has been corrected. I've also given more prominent standing to the co-authors of Celestia, rightly so, and apologize if any of the "old devs" felt I was neglecting their amazing contributions. Lastly, I detailed more accurately the advanced scientific concepts that the author and co-authors wrestle with and how implementation will be ported to code. I added the author's list, too.

Finally, I want to assure the Celestia community and authors that woven-media.com is an open-source site that promotes the FREE exchange of knowledge and ideas. This is NOT an attempt to drive traffic to my site for commercial purposes. My commercial activity exists on a seperate WAN intranet unavailable to the world-wide web. I just love Celestia and the community at large.
