Hosting provider shutting down, new hosting urgently needed

Post #1by SevenSpheres » 03.12.2022, 21:09

From fosshost.org

At this time, Fosshost is deeply sorry to announce we are no longer able to continue offering our services.

Due to circumstances outside of the control of the Fosshost volunteers, we are now in a situation where we cannot guarantee our servers will stay online, and in fact expect them to go offline shortly.

Because of this, we strongly recommend all Fosshost tenants to backup their data immediately, and migrate elsewhere as soon as possible.

Nice. They even haven't sent any email.

Damn.

I bet you know much more than me, but there are other free website hosting solutions...

We need not a web hosting, we need a virtual machine. I have one but currently it's used as a build machine and backup storage. In case of urgency I'll repurpose it.

fosshost has added an update on the situation to their website, including this message from their founder
"Carbon stars with ancient satellites colonized by sentient fungi. Gas giants inhabited by vast meteorological intelligences. Worlds stretched thin across the membranes where the dimensions intersect... impossible to describe with our limited vocabulary."

looks like radix, which is essentially the successor to fosshost, is accepting applications now
