Translate website into your language

After the launch of the new Celestia website, it is possible to do the translation website into any language. I believe that users from different countries will be convenient to have a website Celestia with basic information in their native language.

How to translate?

1. Download main html files (zipped). [Archive updated 21.03.2017]
2. Transtate visible text in downloaded html files into your country language. Check for any errors (particularly in the HTML code).
3. Pack html files in a zip archive (named 2 chars country code, eg ru.zip) and send e-mail to team@celestiaproject.net or post on this topic.
4. I will create a directory on the server, named your 2 chars country code and place your html files there. As a result, the website URL, translated into your language, will be like this.

Enjoy

Hi,

As I said in the old new forum:
jogad wrote:Translating the presentation of the site is a good idea.
A newcomer will be more inclined to read the basic introduction if it is written in his native language.

I had already made a translation and as the "News" page has changed, I post here a new one.

This is not very convenient  because I can't make a new translation for every new information on the site.

I suggest an automatic update of local pages through Google Translate or other similar means.
The result may be a little strange, but it's better than nothing.

If the automatic translation is weird (as it is often the case), then any volunteer may submit a better one.

jogad, I will not take all the files, because you could make a mistake again in HTML. I will take only the text of the new news.

Here is my german translation of the website.

It would be nice if someone can supervise this version who knows more about the thechnical details. German is a language with casual use of anglicisms, especially in technical matters, so I'm not sure if my choice of words is appropriate, or if translations of some of these words even exist in german. Also, I was not sure if to use the casual or formal case, I chose the casual one.

I checked out the code for the webpage, it looks like HTML4. Are there any plans to modernize the look (UI/UX) and write the page using HTML5?

Best regards,

Coder206, site pages are simple, do not contain any complex elements, so there is no need to use HTML5.

Added after 2 minutes 26 seconds:
Maybe in the future i redid all pages and make them beautiful, with floating backgrounds from Celestia. For this i will use HTML5.

Thank you for your work, Alexell. But the entrance to the translated page is just not on the English home page...It seems that a bit more work is needed to sync the language list. :)

Perhaps you all might consider using Google Translate in combination with nation flags to automatically translate the Celestia web site into a variety of languages. I use this on one of my own web sites. See:

http://apollo.mem-tek.com/

The cool thing is that native speakers can highlight portions of sentences and phrases and then suggest better translations.

GoneToPlaid, I will return to this issue when the new Celestia website is ready.
