Downloaded ans installed 1.6.2.1 and I cannot add a new bookmark to an existing folder!
Do you know why ?
beta3 works fine !

Is there a new doc users guide for this version of celestia or shall we use the old one from 1.6.1 for command shortcuts and such?

1.6.2 is just a bug fix of 1.6.1, the docs don't need to change except for stuff that was backported from 1.7.0.

In Celestia.cfg I put:
FavoritesFile "C: /Users/Ziegler/AppData/Roaming/Celestia/favorites.cel"
in c: \ Users \ myuser \ Appdata \ AppData \ Roaming \ Celestia (create if it doesn't exist) then create an empty file called 'favorites.cel'
When you add a bookmark in Celestia, it is in this file that it will be written

I have write :

There is of course an error and you should read:
in c:\Users\my_installation_user\Appdata\Roaming\Celestia
Note that all the bookmarks you create in celestia are listed one after the other in the favorites.cel file

in case anyone is wondering what is the status for bookmark organizer issue, the fix is here
https://github.com/CelestiaProject/Celestia/pull/881 but we don't have a window machine/person to build the .exe.

Great news, huge work judging by your change log.
However, after purging the previous package and following the Linux related instructions linked on that page, specifically for Ubuntu 18.04, I still have version 1.6.1.

I use only
1.6.2 - 64 bits, so I deleted celestia 1.7 until a definitive version appears.

OK, try this :
Launch celestia 1.6.2.1 ...
Go to renderings options and click on 'galaxies' & 'galaxy names' ...
Execute script named 'Mark Local Group Galaxies' ...
Click on any galaxy ...
What do you see ?

Simply follow instructions and you'll see problem... right ?

The only real reason why you should respond to this thread at this point is if you have bug report to send to onetwothree, guesses don't work for finding bugs.
