Is there a way to slow down the speed when orbiting an object? (Shift+Left, Right, Up or Down Arrows)

@Rockhead1959

With celestia closed, not running.
Open celestia.cfg in a text editor.
Locate the line below, about 2/3 of the way through.
You can also use ctrl-f in many programs.

RotateAcceleration

The default is 120.0, whereas I set mine at 10 or 15.

Hi, Thanks so much for the advice. I've found the file and am able to rewrite the line, but when I try to save, it won't allow permission. I'm opening in Windows 10 Notepad. Thanks in advance for any further advice.

@Janus

Ok. I used WordPad instead and it worked. Again, many thanks!

Be sure to save it in text only, ascii mode.
Any extended characters and parsing will fail.
Characters between 0x20 & 0x7F only, a single utf-8 character can break things.
Notepad++, encoding ansi is the safest for windows.
Convert to ansi if it is not already checked.
All windows editors like to save in rtf,doc or utf-8 by default, often without warning.
With W10 you cannot trust the encoding setting it displays since it runs a localization filter automatically for display.

Also, file permission are weird in W10.
