Unable to get either .3ds or .cmod files to load more than one texture

Having had a boost of confidence from my first addon, I decided go ahead and begin working on my next addon. However, I seem be to be unable to get either a .cmod version or .3ds version of my model file from using more than a single texture file. Is there a way to solve this issue? I've heard that .cmod can support more than one texture file, but I haven't been able to get more than one to load currently.
The model I'm working with is the 1st gen SpaceX Cargo Dragon, that I spoke about in this post:

Cmod models can have a lot of textures. Convert the original mesh into obj. format, after that use Anim8tor 1.x to export it in cmod format. If the textures are working in Anim8tor 1.x, then they will work with the exported cmod mesh too.

Thanks for the recommendation, though I'm unable to do this as I work on a Mac, and I don't currently have access to a Windows device. So unless there a Mac version of Anim8tor that I'm unaware of, I don't think this method will work for me.

That's a shame, please buy a PC.
Editing a cmod file manually can be very hard and in many cases the 3ds to cmod converter utility is not working properly in my opinion.

@Endeavor35
Have you tried
wine for running windows programs on mac.
I don't use mac, but according to their website, they support it, and it is open source as well.

Depends on what version of macOS he has since 10.15 and 11.x wine does not support.

I'm on MacOS 10.14.6 Mojave. When I run Anim8tor through Wine, all I get are endless graphical glitches, and a completely unresponsive Anim8tor user interface.
I have no doubt that Anim8tor is fantastic, but I don't think it is the best way forward here.

Please use this tutorial:
https://www.classe.cornell.edu/~seb/celestia/modelling.html#4.1After that you just have to import and export the mesh. You don't have to use Anim8tor in any other capacity.
Added after 2 minutes 4 seconds:You can install Ubuntu on a USB stick and run Wine from Ubuntu.

The problem is not so much getting Anim8tor to run, but rather that the entire time it is running, I cannot click on any of the controls within the Anim8tor window.
I'm going to hold off on making any further add ons for Celestia. I'll continue to share on the forum links to any 3d models I find, though at least for the time being, I think its best if I leave it at my Dream Chaser add on. Thank you all for the help, and hopefully I'll be able to renter the Celestia add on scene at some point in the future.

You might consider asking someone to help when you find models that you'd especially like to have translated into CMOD format, Translating from OBJ to CMOD usually is relatively straight forward, although sometimes tedious.

I mean, if someone wants to help out every now then, that would be great.
