Model showing parts that shouldn't be visible

Post #1by Endeavor35 » 01.02.2021, 03:42

So after fiddling around a bit with various models, I did manage to this model of Dream Chaser to load, (almost), correctly in Celestia. However, I currently am finding that right now, when in Celestia, the model displays, but parts such as the landing gear are visible when the should not be visible. Is there a way which I can prevent this from happening? I will add that when I look at the model in both Blender & MeshLab, this phenomenon does not occur.

Your textures are probably PNGs, which I think are treated as translucent and mess up depth sorting when they're actually not. Try converting the diffuse textures for opaque materials to JPG.

Will give that a try. I'm currently running it with .dds files, though I don't know if that may also be part of the problem.

Looks to be all fixed! Appreciate the help! Now to try and reorient the darn thing!
