missing textures

Hi all-
I have been running Celestia on my Linux machine (Mint, which is Ubuntu-based) and all seemed fine. But now i seem to be missing most of my textures.
Jupiter and all its moons are just big white balls. Same for Mars, Neptune and Uranus. But Saturn seems ok (at least for some its moons). I can right-click and apply alternative surfaces, which then work (if i have one), but what happened to the default ones? And how can i fix this? Thanks!

So i did a full reinstall of Celestia, and the textures are still missing. It seems like the default textures aren't included. I've searched for the texture files and they're simply not there. What happened?

I followed the instructions from the Download section (
https://celestia.space/download.html) which redirected to:
https://bintray.com/celestia/releases-deb/celestia/view/readmore#readThings work, it's just missing the textures.

No, i don't see reference to that in the install functions. How would i get / install it?
I tried apt-get install celestia-common-nonfree , but it doesn't install.
Code: Select all
Package celestia-common-nonfree is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package 'celestia-common-nonfree' has no installation candidate

That seems to have fixed it. I wonder why it is not included in the primary install. Regardless, thanks much!

due to license restrictions. a lot of celestia assets prohibited commercial usage or had obscure licenses so they were considered nonfree. fortunately these restrictions were lifted recently.
