Problem after latest Window Update

We tried to open our Celestia program after the latest bunch of Windows updates.
Once it gets to the deepsky.dsc part it locks up, and you have to reboot the computer to get out of it. :help:  Before the windows update, there was no locking up.

Is there a fix?

THank you.

The current stable version of Celestia (1.6.1) doesn't have a file called "deepsky.dsc", so I think you're using an old version. Try installing Celestia 1.6.1.

Actually it does, int he data folder; 7th file in that folder if arrange alphanumerically.
Same result 1.5 or 1.6.

Past that now though.

Did a SafeMode uninstall/reinstall... now the issue become that runs, but 1/2 the bookmarks now go to open space nearish where set to. Oddness.

Those bookmarks were probably saved in a version of Celestia prior to 1.6.0, so they won't work properly with the current version of Celestia.

So you have an older version of Celestia, or maybe a modified "data" folder.

Edit: it's the latter, given the dates on the files.

Edit2: in any case, deepsky.dsc has long since been replaced by galaxies.dsc and globulars.dsc, so you should use the standard celestia.cfg file that loads those instead. I can attach it here if needed.

Please do whenever convenient! I'll collect them after shift tomorrow.
Still bizarre that it gave us no issues for all this time, then wham.
Thanks!!
