I have a distinct memory that someone had created an Addon which showed magnetic field lines around a star or planet, perhaps created by Cham.

Does anybody know where I could find something like that?

Here's my version, for your pleasure.

It adds a dipolar field on all magnetized planets of our solar system, some particles trajectories, and a small protuberence on the Sun.
Use the two included CELX scripts to turn ON/OFF the lines.

Take note that the SSC files and the scripts included are in French, but it should be easy to translate and adapt to your needs.

Maybe I should also re-publish all the fields I have created for numerous pulsars, but it's a huge and complicated addon-on.
