Hello ive been trying to download some extra content and ive run into some problems. I can download the files but I cant seem to unpack them and add them to the program they appear on the desktop but I cant play them in Celestia, any help with this would be really appreciated.

What operating system are you using? Windows? XP, Vista or Win7? MacOS? Linux? The details are different for each of them.

When you download an Addon, the result should be a Zip folder.
When you open that Zip folder, perhaps by double-clicking on it, you should find a file named "readme.txt" or something like that. That file is supposed to contain instructions for how to install the Addon.

Most (but not all!) Addons work if they're simply extracted into Celestia's folder named "extras". If you're using Windows, the easiest way to do this is to put the Zip folder itself into the folder Celestia\extras, double-click on it, and select the option "Extract all files". You don't have to change any of Zip's default actions. Just click on Next or OK until it's finished. Then run Celestia. If Celestia is already running, you have to exit it and start it again. It only detects new Addons when it starts.
