How to manage bookmarks

I happen to take a lot of bookmarks while exploring around in Celestia

I have kept them grouped in folders like Star System, Nebulae, Planets, Galaxies, Black Holes

My problem is that im running out of space in that dropdown 'Bookmarks'

It only allows one 'level' of 'folder' hierarchy in the bookmarks drop down and i already have to scroll a lot in the list to get to the required one.

Im thinking of shifting to the cel:urls..but i have two doubts.

1>
is there any easier way to converts all the bookmarks in my 'favourites.cel' file to cel:url directly or will have to go each bookmark manually and do Ctrl+Ins

2>
Cel:URL are version dependent but i would like a version independent way of maintaining them..is there any such?

Also is there any app created by someone or maybe some other way to heirarchialy manage bookmarks
Like for eg.

Galaxies(Folder)
-Milky Way
-Stars(Folder)
-Sol
-Planets(Folder)
-Jupiter
-Moons(Folder)
-Europa

Wherein each of the (Folder) item will be a container and the non folder will be actual bookmark

Thanks in advance.

I don't know how to help when they get full, except to say that you can also add folders within folders if that helps.

For example, I have my bookmarks initially separated like you do.
i.e. -
Nebulae
BlackHoles
Galaxies
Planets

Within the Planets folder, I have:

SolarSystem
ExtraSolar

Does that help?

You might consider having several bookmarks files and copying the appropriate one into the "official" file when you change from one project to another.

The Windows bookmarks file is "plain text." If you're careful, you can edit it using your favorite text editor (e.g. notepad). Save a copy first, of course, so you'll have something to go back to when it gets damaged beyond repair. ;)

I don't know of any way to convert them into Cel URLs, other than to do it manually, selecting each one and then do a Ctrl-C, and paste it into an HTML file.
