Hello people,

I am new here, and I like the celestia application!! Very very nice! The add-ons are also very nice and surprising.

But one question, I am using the MAC OS X version and I can't understand how to fly 3d.

Some objects like our planet earth or some of the add-ons nebula's are 3d, but I can't fly behind them, to see the other side of the object. You can zoom in etc but that's it.

Does anyone know how?

Thank you in advance!

Hi. You can set the speed of the viewer with key shortcuts:

a: accellerate
z: decellerate
s: stop
F2 to F7: various speeds up to 1ly/s.

Check current speed at the bottom left of the screen.

Ok thank you!

But do you know also how I can fly free into the kosmos, because now if I zoom in I always go to an object like earth, mars or nebula for example.

I have checked the guide for celestia but can't find the answer. Maybe it is impossible.

But check this youtube video at 1:10

You can see that the person who is using celestia can fly THROUGH a nebula and not only TO a nebula.

Greatz and thank you in advance!

If your speed is greater than zero, you will fly THROUGH anything that lies in your path (the center of the screen). Even planets. Beware, however, that distances ar VAST. Sometimes even 1ly/s is not enough to show a perceptible movement. In such cases, accellerate with "a". Change direction with arrows or keypad. And yes, you can fly anywhere in the universe, through clusters of galaxies, for example.

Godspeed,

Guillermo

It works best if you have a joystick or other game controller to hook to your computer. If you do then hit F8 on your keyboard and you can fly around freely at any speed and direction you want using your controller. :D
