How can I make Celestia show more stars?

Post #1by Yarlan Zey » 31.07.2024, 20:38

Compared to other Android astronomy apps like Sky Safari and Stellarium, the display of stars in Celestia seems rather sparse. As best I can tell, visibility stops at around magnitude 6.5, which seems rather limited when the simulated POV is supposed to be from space, free of atmospheric obstruction and disturbances.

Is there some setting that I've missed that adjusts the limiting magnitude?

Stars magnitude control - keys "[" and "]" (to the right relative to letters "O" and "P").

Oh now I remember, from using the app on a PC.

But how do you do it in a smartphone app?

A button with three horizontal stripes. Next, the topmost button "settings" -> subsection "graphics", button "rendering parameters".
