Hello,
I have a basic question. I've been away from Celestia for a few years, but plan on installing it on my new Notebook. I still have the original Celestia 1.6.1 Windows install file from the old Shatters.net site. Is there any difference between that install file, and the one found here on Celestia.space for Celestia 1.6.1 for Windows?
Thank you.
-Jeff

Try this site:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/celestia/files/Celestia-source/
Added after 4 minutes 42 seconds:
It seems that the 2011 version is there. Try to compare it to your files.
Here is the version I use (64 bit):
https://celestia.alexell.ru//1.7.0/x64/

Thank you, John.
But are all the Celestia 1.61 for Windows 64-bit (Original Shatters.net; Celstia.space; and Sourceforge) the same? If not, how do they differ?
Thanks!

Sorry, I don't know. Personally I never thought that the 1.6.1 versions are different in any way, but you can compare them.
Added after 2 minutes 55 seconds:
Celestia 1.6.1 is 32 bit. The experimental 1.7 versions are 64 bit.
They can handle at least 3-4 GBs of memory with huge surface 3D add-ons, so that is the main difference for me at least.

Glad to know that there's another brazilian here.
Basically, 1.7.0 is a mini-overhaul of Celestia, but I don't know a lot about it...

In case anyone else has this same question, I now have the answer.
I performed a binary file comparison (Command prompt "FC /b ...") for the three Celestia 1.6.1 install files for Windows - from the original Shatters.net site; the Celstia.space site; and the SourceForge site. I found them to be identical in all respects (Last Modified date and time, file size, and file contents).
