Determining your position on a planet's surface.

I know there is the planetographic grid in the reference vector menu but is there a way to show your coordinates on a planet in the format that you use in an SSC file? This would make it much faster to place objects on a surface in specific locations.
Is there an existing script for this maybe?

Hello

If you do not need an extreme precision you can use the lua_edu_tools.
This gives your position with 2 digit after the decimal point that is not so bad.

Enlarge the picture and look on the bottom right corner.

I have centered the picture on the Lyot crater on Mars and I see its position is
28.68°E and 50.56°N
E and N are positive
W and S are negative

The litte losange to locate precisely your position is seen by activating the markers (Ctrl-K and Ctlr-P)

Oh thank you I didn't know of that feature. I also need to install you lua tools. I had it on an older version of Celestia but haven't reinstalled since getting 1.6.0. :)
