Nope!

Don’t dispatch the files.
Just put the entire addon folder (Goa’uld) as a subfolder of ‘extras’. That’s it

This method works for most addons. Some others need extra manipulations but generally it is explained in the readme.txt that comes with the addon.

I took a look at the add-on chapter in the Celestia wikibook, but it is a bit confusing.
Maybe a little sticky tutorial in the add-ons forum would be useful.

kids711,

Welcome to the Celestia forum!

Are you discussing the Addon "Goa'uld" created by Jestr, which is available on the Celestia Motherlode?

To expand on what jogad wrote:

Addons should go into Celestia's /extras/ folder, not mixed in among Celestia's own files.

Also, you should not need to place the files manually. When you open the Goa'uld Addon's Zip archive using your favorite Zip reader, you should see a folder named Goa'uld. Drag that folder into the /extras/ folder of your copy of Celestia. All of the files and folders contained in it will then be extracted to the correct places. After being extracted, they should all be in the same relative positions as they are in the Zip archive, all within the folder named Goa'uld.

Then, to see the three spacecraft orbiting the Earth, you should run Celestia and Go to "Goa'uld Fleet" (without the quotes).

Many of the details of how Addons should be organized are described on the Web page http://www.lepp.cornell.edu/~seb/celest ... intro.html

Does this help?

I just saw a screenshot in the surface of mars.

Is that an Add-On?.

Hi kids,

there are quite a few Mars addons available and also threads about them. It would be helpful, if you could specify where exactly you have seen that screenshot. Better would be a link to the thread. Best a link directly to the post with the picture.

Now if you don'T know how that is done, well it's not so hard.
Just find the post you are talking about (by opening it in a different Tab or browser window).
Then open the "reply" function in this thread.
Click on the URL button and then go to the other Tab/Browser window and right click on the small paper like symbol next to the posting date and select "copy URL" (or something similar sounding).
Then right click between the 2 code blocks

Code: Select all

and say insert.
Done.

We know which picture/thread you mean and can help to find what you seek.

Regards,

Guckytos
