I'd like to see the cockpit in my celestia 1.5.1, too. I created the file Vincent wrote about. But now I need the cockpit.png file... Where can I find it?

Just click on the cockpit texture shortcut that I posted in this post:
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=12133

This will open the cockpit.png image. Then, you'll be able to save it using a mouse right click.

Thanks - I downloaded the picture to the lua_edu_tools\images folder and renamed it to "cockpit.png". But: It doesn't work. There is no checkbox for "Cockpit" displayed. I checked the three files serveral times but I don't see an error.

When starting Celestia it takes some time before the "Compass" checkbox is displayed: I guess the program is looking for something and then decides not to display the "Cockpit" checkbox.
Maybe it has something to do with the german version of Celestia 1.5.1 and LUA I'm using? So I copied the cockpit.png to the "locale\de\images" folder and renamed it to cockpit_de.png. It is still not working.
Next Thursady I'll held a lecture in our observatory and it would be really, really nice to have a look at the universe thru the window of a spaceship.

Maybe you have an idea (would be great)

Did you precisely follow the instructions I provided in this post? viewtopic.php?f=11&t=12133

you are not done by simply adding the cockpit image!

You have to add a new lua file 'cockpitBox.lua' in the 'tools' folder and
modify the files 'toolBox.lua' (in the 'utils' folder) and 'config.lua'.

Please read and follow the instructions by Vincent carefully and everthing
will work fine.

OK Folks!

I did it for the fourth time - and now it worked. Previous to this I made a new installation of the LUA-tools. Maybe I corrupted one of the two files "toolbox" or "config" during the first attempt to use this feature.
