I've done another video in Astronomy and want to share it with you. It is an Introduction to the Big Bang. Here is its link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMBqa5BdN_8
You can download it directly from: http://vimeo.com/27771052. Look for the download link in the right corner of the page.
Let me know what you think.

John:
You are absolutely right. Since there is no "outside" of the universe as it is born, we should not be seeing it as an expanding cloud of anything, since that would indeed require us to be outside of the universe. However, for the purpose of explaining how a single point can expand to a huge expanding " ???? of space-time, I guess an exploding cloud that looks like a ball of energy viewed from an "observer" viewpoint is probably OK to give kids an idea of what the Big Bang is supposed to represent.
Thanks for the great insight! I will mention your point in my actual class lecture on the topic.

Is amazing video!

Hi Frank, your videos are really dramatic and stunning; you have indeed a "film-maker" attitude!
As for the questions about to shape the "primordial" vision, I think that it be the ancient problem of matter and form, imho. Accordingly to Aristotle, the matter cannot be thought singly, without a form; in its "visualisation" men will tends to assing it some sort of form (stripes, light-beam, gas-clouds), that is, all that is proper mostly of the radiation. To think at the matter of hydrogen, mean to think at one particle with another that turn around it in form of spheres or waves; and also when it is cought by sub-atomic measure devices, what we can see are forms due to its radiation's energy, never its pure matter.

Thanks guys, for your compliments. I am very glad you are enjoying the videos. Feel free to download and use them in your classrooms, if you wish.
I will be doing probably 5 -8 more videos in Astronomy this year. There definitely will be one on the formation of solar systems, the life and death of stars, the human space program and Black Holes. Subscribe to my YouTube and Vimeo sites to be notified of new videos.
Regards
Frank
