Fun ! That's exactly the code I was using for my own spherical globular models (CMOD point models), already discused there :

Would be nice to have a (even not finalized) rendering to take advantage of Andrew's new catalogue!

Would that be the only reason? ;-)

Andrews' extraction of data as he did it so far is a very quick PERL job. But the rendering of the Openclusters is another one. The rendering of globulars is entirely different from that of the open clusters. So my globular code can hardly be used for that purpose.
