the truly blessed people
I am of scot, apache and cherokee descent, and can speak with absolute certianty that the rest of you mortals (unless you are descended from one of the blessed peoples, including all native americans and celts) are inferior and doomed to spend eternity in New Jersey after you pass thru the viel. :D ...

trident laptop vid drivers and problems
Just a couple of questions, 1, what make and model is the laptop? 2. When was the last time you did a critical update on the operating system and system drivers. the error you are getting is quite common with trident laptop vid chipsets, usually happens when something has corrupted the driver files....

Check and see if the stc and ssc files were saved as text files, if that is the case, then you need to convert em.
Granted i cheated, i downloaded an stc file and used it as a template.
windows is very picky sometimes.
Hope this helps

Just as soon as i get me another scanner ill be posting them. Actually, the home built systems are coming along fine, Cormoran, making the textures for the planets is taking more time than i figured. I noticed that paint shop pro doesnt have a plugin for fractual landscape generation, should have go...

Curious
Recently, I was going thru a bunch of stuff that had been hanging around the house since i was a kid (YES, THAT WAS PRE MTV, SHOWTIME, HBO :D ) and came across some pictures that my father brought back from when he was in the airforce and was on the C130 that transported the apollo 12 and 14 crews b...

Fleshing out celestia
Actually, i think that fleshing out celestia will probably keep going, and if i could find a way to intergrate the 60 meg messer catalog and find a way not to double entriers, i might just go for it. Personally I would like to see some form of gravity added to the system, simply because of the unive...

Celestia Addicting?
WELL, after much trial and error, i have got the models to go in where i want them and actually see them. I have moved on to adding fictional solar systems and my wife seems to think that celestia is addicting. :D A few things i have discovered, and may be of help to others. Win98 seems to have a ba...

Consider this
Celestia is, in and of itself, a 3d space simulator, in that it does simulate space in real time. Having gravity added to the package would not be turning into a game simulator, but carrying the concept to its next logical step. However, I think that if full gravity effects were added to the system,...

Alright, here is something i knew i had read about at somepoint, and after emailing an old physics prof who happens to love star trek, he reminded me of this one. reason im on peacefulhaven
Well, actually, i have one other room on that network, dealing with native american spritual beliefs, and lurk in two rooms dealing with 12 step programs. So, it just made sense to open a room there. Anyway, if your dialup does not allow irc clients, you can get around that by using the web chat int...

Guest you kind of missed a point.
From a paper written by Michael Fowler, who points out a few facts on the subject of mass and acceleration. A unique phenomanon is often observed in particle accelerators, a dramatic shift in gravity field around the particle in motion, and the fact that the measured mass does increase, which, by al...

Okay seldon, granted you have posted some interesting points. Actually there are a lot of planatarium software available, much of it freeware, such as starcalc. all very good and all very informative. as far as using celestia as a planetarium, i wouldnt begin to tell you how. the most intersesting part of this software, IMO is the fact you can model so much of...
