Its very powerful and almost seems to work like magic on certain types of noise, lifting it off while leaving the underlying image completely intact! I use it alot for digital photos. Frank,

Unfortunately i think it may be a bug on your system. Are your drivers up to date? All works fine on my system.
At low altitudes any clouds overhead are perfectly visible.

Ps. The clouds are only 8k at the moment, i havent yet uploaded the 16k level.

I agree with Don etc about using the alpha channel over the colour select tool. Furthermore a number of cloud layers combined are usually needed to make a realistic looking texture. I had read that but "much, much" seemed quite vague. Though seeing as jestrs 64k addons can be uploaded there appears to be quite alot of space. I may even upload some things myself.

Excellent. Thanks wcomer. Thats one of those simple solutions that makes you bang you head wondering why you didnt think of it first!
I am just using the gimp bumpmap filter and layering clouds on top but the solution still applies. Thanks again.

Daryl, Unfortunately i do not have enough system memory(512) to work with 8x8k images in gimp for assembling the cloud textures. If memory serves me you have double that?
