You're welcome.
Actually, I didn't find it there at first. I discovered it in another script I downloaded after a failed web search. I'm just learning myself.

Re: help
If you're using it as an alternate surface, you'll have to right click on the Moon and select it via the Alternate Surfaces menu. However, I'm assuming you want that to be the default texture. I suggest creating a "Moon" directory in "Extras" for your texture: extras/Moon/ extras/Moon/Moon.ssc extra...

Re: question about jupiter addon
erm, the things you told me don't work. i did everything exactly like you told me. the program don't recognices the ssc files i think... it only works when i put the stuff into the normal textures folder (and rename the 4kjupiter to jupiter). Which version of Celestia do you have? Using "Modify" in...

Re: question about jupiter addon
thanks a lot for the detailed answer, very kind of you! :D things are getting clearer now... You're welcome. Actually, it helps me to go over this. I'm just getting back into Celestia; been occupied with other things for awhile. I've spent that past couple of days making virtual textures from surfa...

Re: Questions about a particular planet
This particular planet is a frigid 45K, obviously not a summer vacation spot. It has 2.16 Earth Masses and a radius of 13779.84 Km. It's density is just 2.46 gm/cm^3 and it rotates once on its axis every 84.24 hours. Cheers. I'm glad you found my information useful. However, as quoted above, Your p...

Re: Questions about a particular planet
Based on your planet's characteristics, here is what I came up with: I am using the M K S system (Meter, Kilogram, second) The gravitational constant: G=6.67259e-11 M^3/Kg*S^2 The formula for calculating the acceleration of gravity @ the surface is: Ag=GM/R^2 (G=Gravitational constant, M=planet'...

Re: Beagle 2
Let's see if I can do this. :) The acceleration of gravity at the surface of the Earth is approximately 2.63 times greater than at the surface of mars. Given 10 kg mass dropped from a height of 10m, here is what the velocity of each upon impact with the respective planets' surfaces: V=(2AD)^.5 Veart...

Re: MGS and other ships are black spheres
If you have version 1.3.0 or later, you can put the your models, ssc, etc in your extras directory. I Have the shroxmars add-on which inludes the Mars Global Surveyor and Mars Odyssey. Here is my directory structure: Celestia\extras\shroxmars\shroxmars.ssc Celestia\extras\shroxmars\models\marsglobal...

This probably doesn't matter but here goes: So far I haven't had any of the symptoms described or any other for that matter. I can view the ring shadows without problem. I'm using Celestia V1.3.1 pre5 900Mhz Amd Duron w/384 MB Ram Windows XP Pro SP1 Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc. Renderer: Radeon 750...

Actually, I don't have the rings. I would really appreciate that paul. If you could put those on your website or post them that would be great.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I have no problems with Internet explorer either. Slimbrowser and I assume Crazybrowser is basically just a different interface for Internet Explorer. They use IE's core files.

That's a good question. I tried it and I could not see the earth at the beginning of the demo. I could see the other planetary bodies, however.
