I installed celestia 1.6.1 compiled against gtk.
Maybe I need to compile with different options that what the default build comes compiled with under Arch.

Re: How to make celestia work like a planetarium ...
<ctrl + g> works on both GTK and QT builds on SVN 5170 That's not what the FAQ page says. EVERYTHING is a manual install You must have your own definition of manual. so just What did you instal GUI wise As I said previously, I installed celestia 1.6.1. It is compiled against the gtk libraries.

How to make celestia work like a planetarium ...
In the FAQ at: http://celestiaproject.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=118149#p118149 under the section: 5. How can I make Celestia work like a planetarium? The keys noted to use for Linux do not work that way. I needed to use [Ctrl+G] for GotoSurface, and [Ctrl + Shift + F] to enable Azimuth mode. Not sur...

Showing the orbits of minor moons
How can I get the orbits of all the minor moons to render? I read the manual, and it showed me how to get labels for the minor moons to show up using Shift-M. This was working in previous versions of Celestia by simply chosing orbits to show from view options. I am using arch linux, celestia 1.6.1.

Re: Crashes on Windows, but not Mac OSX, or Linux
Thank you for your prompt reply. It turns out the reason for the issue I was having was not my ATI Radeon graphics driver version, but rather the fact that I was running a Cygwin/X server (using an mrxvt terminal and editing my .cel script in vi). So for my set up: 3GB, 2.00 GHz Intel Core Duo Windo...

Eclipse shadows ... rendering the umbra and penumbra
Is there a plugin or a compile option to allow the umbra and penumbra of eclipse shadows to be highlighted something like you see in the attached mockup? I know the mock up looks terrible (the umbra is too big? not drawn at the right angle? etc ...), but I'm just trying to get the idea across in cas...

Re: Shadow on Io with edges!
I am not sure what you folks are seeing, but the attached picture is what I see. Not many edges to complain about here. Could you folks check out the following script and help me learn whether the shadow in the shot of the moon at the end is in the umbra or the penumbra zone? http://vernon.is-a-geek...
