Re: Named Minor Planets Project

Alright, I've got Logos and the reference point implemented. I'm working on implementing Zoe, but I don't understand how to mirror an orbit.

Re: Named Minor Planets Project

I was unable to find any information on Logos and Zoe at the IAU and JPL. I'm also running into many technical issues with the coding for their orbits. Apparently OrbitBarycenter doesn't work for planets. I got Logos into the program as well as its orbital reference point but I can't seem to get the...

Re: Named Minor Planets Project

Update 2: I will be including Logos and Zoe. I was able to obtain an orbit model from the orbits of Sirius A and B.

Re: Named Minor Planets Project

UPDATE

I will likely either postpone or cancel the additon of Logos and Zoe. I do not believe there is sufficient astronomical information to properly include them.

Re: Double planet orbits?

Last I looked, Pluto and Charon had a custom orbit.

Double planet orbits?

I'm working on an add-on for a binary planet system.

I want to know how I would implement the orbiting system below.

Hi-res Earth cloud maps?

I'm using a 4k surface map and night map for Earth. They make the default 1k cloud map look somewhat grainy by comparison. The only other cloud map is the 32k VT by Harald Schmidt, and my graphics card can't handle that. Does a 4k cloud map exist?

Re: Bugs in 1.6.0

2. Nebulas. All nebula packages downloaded from the Celestia Motherlode are rendered with large green squares blocking them. This does not happen in 1.5.0. These squares around nebulae indicate their size. They are only visible when nebulae labels are enabled. If this is a problem, we may need to a...

I've already got that version.

Re: Bugs in 1.6.0

The thing is they all work fine on 1.5.1. I don't see how my graphics card could be any sort of problem between those two versions unless the rendering engine was somehow changed.

Re: Bugs in 1.6.0

I have tried four of the nebula add-ons.

The Helix Nebula 3D model, the Eight Burst 3D model and billboard, and the Butterfly nebula M-29.

Bugs in 1.6.0

I've noticed several issues with the newest Celestia build. Most notably, 2 of them come to my attention. 1. Comets. Why is Borrelly the only one with a tail? 2. Nebulas. All nebula packages downloaded from the Celestia Motherlode are rendered with large green squares blocking them. This does not ha...

Planet Conditions by Distance

After having Celestia for about 5 months, I've begun work on a solar system add-on. The system itself is around Alpha Sagittarii, and the planet I'm working on is about the same distance from the star as Jupiter is from the Sun. What I'm concerned about is the scientific accuracy of the conditions o...
