Re: Shadows of Moons as they eclipse Jupiter
i don't know what the original poster ment to ask, but my question is: do jovian moons really cast so sharp shadows on jupiter? i mean, jupiter has no solid surface, and i thought those clouds or whatever are not that "definit" or flat or what. are they?

Re: Signature images.
I think that if the image is small, it's ok. but there are some here(I dont want to give names) that are very big. I my self put a big image, and then I made it samller. for my taste, ElPelado's sig img is too big. bigger then the post itself. and for the whole sig, it is three times as big as the ...

Re: (feature request) Sky maps?
How easy/difficult/impossible would it be to introduce a way to generate a 'sky map' from a location on a planet? By which I mean, produce an image that shows what one would see in the sky from that location, like what you see in astronomy magazines? (it'd be a 360 degree image of everything above ...

Re: Earth in... 2100.?
don't be so pessimistic i'd like to see metal-grey instead of brown as cities grow to cover the whole planet. i'd like to see that grey thing to grow ten up to hundred kilometers into the see as well. or, mabe, the power plant with those red human-holding tanks and the massive all-covering dark clou...

Re: light speed in celestia to slow
(9 - 8,3) / 8,3 is about 8% what is the difference between the aphelium and perihelium of Earth? what if you measure the travelling time on different dates? for example in january and june. I hover over the earth and set the velocity to the speed of light. It takes over nine minutes to get to the su...

everyone says that the moon being so big in real life is an illusion. pals! everything you see is an illusion!!! what is the difference between looking to a screen and looking to the sky? same photons entering your eye, same receptors sensing them, same neurons processing ... so if you see any diffe...

one showing the speed of the observer moving through space (following the Shuttle etc), and the other showing the relative speed of another object (the Earth below), if one was selected. relative speed would be nice. however, there is no such thing as speed compared to space. there is no main coord...

ISS does not disappear in shadow
From the Earth's surface, ISS or other satellites are visible only in a short period of time after sunset but before it enters the shadow of the planet (or of course the opposite is possible: after leaves the shadow but before sunrise). However, it seems that Celestia always renders ISS as a bright ...

Earth from Moon
hm. i'm pretty sure that this question was asked some times, but I can't found any answers. seeing from the Moon's surface (sync orbit, near the surface), the Earth moves on a strange path on the sky. since Moon always shows the same side to Earth, I expected Earth to stay on one position on the sky...
