Re: Global Warming

I tend to side with Michael Crichton on this one. GW is more myth/religion than science in the first place. Because obviously a medical doctor/bad-technothriller writer would know more about this issue than climate scientists. :-P http://www.sitewave.net/news/s49p628.htm http://www.globalwarminghys...

Re: Will the Moon's far side face the earth?

I'm going to venture a guess and say it's a bug/glitch. I'll be interested in seeing what the pros say when they chime in. [strike] I'm having a hard time visualizing exactly what you did. Can you provide a bit more details (bookmark?) [/strike] nm. I just did the reverse. Orbited the moon to the fa...

Re: Celestia 1.6.0 released

According to standard UNIX nomenclature -lz means that zlib is missing. Again, it's most probably the *-devel package NOT zlib itself. As I pointed out initially, all he presumably has to do is to install the required *-devel packages from the SuSE 10.2 distribution. My guess is that most libs are ...

Re: Celestia 1.6.0 released

cartrite has Suse 10.2 installed and compiles the Celestia regularly. But there are no official RPMs for this old SUSE version. Due to the MANY different Linux distributions in existence, we have given up producing binary distributions for Linux. It's quite easy to compile the code, once you made s...

Re: Celestia 1.6.0 released

I can't get ./configure to work. Anyone know of an RPM for suse 10.2 (64bit)? SVN is broken for Linux right now, because of some major changes. Just wait a bit and try again. You should also tell what commands you entered. Are you a beginner with SVN ? You know that before typing ./configure you MU...

Is 'google it yourself' Sarcastic and snide? If so, I want to hop on the irony button. :D

You look up at the clock after playing with some tour and model plugins and find it's 3:38 a.m.

Re: What is Celestia for? Add-ons analysis

Cham, if you had released all your stuff there it would have help quite a lot to balance the contents. So in fact it's up to you to do something if you want to change this situation... Certainly NOT ! It takes forever to update, on the ML. And I don't want to mix my stuff with all the mediocrity th...

Just interest. I have no idea how those plugins are created. I'm just a fan of those who do :D

Re: Atlantis Lost.

Well Reiko and Bob you were right.

I deleted the existing 'atlantis' folder, redownloaded and extracted the contents and everything works great.

*bangs head on desk*

Only thing I can guess is that the first download something got corrupted. *shrug*.

Thanks guys.

Re: Atlantis Lost.

Strange. It works fine for me. The "Atlantis" and "Atlantis Cargo open" objects are on the night side of the Earth right now, so they're in shadow and thus invisible unless you turn up ambient light. "Atlantis launch" is in sunlight, though. If the lighting is not your...

Atlantis Lost.

I have downloaded Mr. Jack Higgins' Atlantis pack ( http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/catalog/show_addon_details.php?addon_id=272 ). The .txt file included states to simply drop the /atlantis folder in your /extras folder. I have done so, but can find no trace of Atlantis. I have installed many othe...

Are you sure that you did not move the mouse betwen capturing the screen and copying the url?
100% sure. In fact I just copied that URL from the post and dropped it into a fresh session of cel. Same as the image posted.

Weird huh?
