Re: Extrasolar planet textures
http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/7286/exo2.th.jpg Here is version 2 of my textures. I have tweaked some of the issues that were brought up by ajtribick . I believe classes I and II are okay enough. I have made the lines of class III nearly gone. Please do not mistake them for clouds, the line differe...

Re: Extrasolar planet textures
The rationale behind why I made the textures the way I did was because they are intended to be generic - the planets themselves will likely have a wide range of different appearances thanks to varying rotation rates, orbital eccentricities, and compositional differences. You made them?? I wouldn't ...

Extrasolar planet textures
I have been working on this for a while now, but I wanted to bring it up into the public to see how you think they are. The current textures for extrasolar planets are really good for a start, but do have limitations. For instance, they are so small that they give very little to the imagination, and...

That is funny that you mention that. I had to explain to him what Celestia was. But not to many people know of it, so I can't blame him.

Re: Aurelia, Blue Moon, and Darwin IV add-ons?
I couldn't find the book but I found this. This site gives some detailed information on Darwin IV and its solar system. http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence/alienplanet/expedition/game/AlienPlanet_m2.html OMG... thank you so very much! This does help me out to a great level. However, it fails to me...

Re: Aurelia, Blue Moon, and Darwin IV add-ons?
I have also been working on the system's planetary and stellar files. If you don't mind me saying, I placed the Darwin system in Aquarius (Charles Darwin's sign). I have not only made the data for Darwin IV, but also Darwin I, II, and III. Here is how my planet texture looks so far: http://img218.im...

That code looks to complicated for me to currently work on. Is there any way that you can post the code you used?

I am truly sorry. I just got anxious that on one has written to me (like I was alone). Please don't take it seriously, I could never get mad at something so stupid like that

Celestia is freezing on me and crashing my computer!
I am working on a fictional version of our solar system, in which the sun is part of a far binary system. I am making the "SSB" the barycenter of both stars. However, when I try to start up Celestia, the program crashes. I have tried everything imaginable. I have checked and double checked...

DEL Tri
Thank you, Selden. I manually altered DEL Tri, and now there is only the two stars of the system (no duplicates). Since we are on the discussion of DEL Tri, I thought I'd mention and show my code that I made for the system. This is the correct data for the two stars. This includes the proper distanc...

Re: HD 98800 - 4 star system
I coded this awhile ago. It's probably not accurate (but I do not know the proper data for this star system). I pretty much "Christmas treed" all the data I couldn't find. I made system "A" further from each other (in comparison to system "B"), so any planets around st...
