Re: The Sky at Night Appreciation Thread

Very sad news indeed. I have to say that he looked and sounded very frail while presenting his final show, which was shown earlier this week. But I've got to thank him for influencing my interest in astronomy. I've no doubt the show will continue, and I'm very interested to see who the new main pres...

Re: Belt of Venus and weather

It would be great to see in Celestia, but I've got to admit I'd never heard of the Belt of Venus until it was listed as one of the 55 heavenly objects to try and observe during April this year, as part of the Moore's Marathon from the Sky at Night TV show. It's something I've seen countless times du...

Well I don't know about anyone else, but I'm currently caught up with Olympic fever. 8) This included a trip to Wimbledon cheering on Andy Murray to victory last weekend in his first round match, before he won the gold medal today  Anyway this has meant that nothing else has got much of a l...

Re: Venus Transit

Hello All, I hope some of you managed to actually see the transit. Would loved to have seen it, but a combination of cloudy weather, tall trees and a 200ft hillside rising due east from the end of my garden meant it was an impossibility. I would have had a 1 hour window (approx) to see it, starting ...
