By trial and error you can use those elements to produce various sizes of clusters. Use increments of +/- 0.1 to start off.
Core is a dispersion variable of the center stars within the core. R is RA +/- D is Dec +/- and d is distance from Sol +/- all in thickness relative to the center.

Re: Someone Shoot Me! I can't stay Away!
I have seen many posts here and there in the forum that have his certain flair to them. He said he was never really going to leave totaly but had to go off into the background for a time. I respect his decision and I know that he is out there keeping an eye on us. I could be wrong but as I said, I ...

Re: Arrrgh!! Target Lock or Something???
I believe Don was referring to the cel script he clicked on and was unaware of the CTRL + K option to remove markers. I had the same experience at first but using the help feature built into Celestia for keyboard commands achieved a markerless universe 8)

The pitted look of the texture gives it that 'sand dune' feel. Very nice

Re: Exotic atmospheres
The atmosphere contents like grant stated and the color of the star the planet revolves around. The trick is in figuring out the correct hue based on all those variables.

I have studied a bit of philosiphy I suppose I can be considered that. As for who I am I go on this plane of existance as the guardian. A mere mortal who at times passes on knowledge from the spiritual world.

Useful page.
I found this database of formats on the net today some of you might find useful.
http://www.dcs.ed.ac.uk/home/mxr/gfx/
It contains various file format structures for image and 3d file formats to be used in programming.

Re: Need help, would like to make different Galactic Models...
Mystic Yes my plan is to create a galaxy using the methods available thus far. It will be filled with nebulae and stars and such. And trying to create the dark matter has failed, unfortunately the black colored nebulae appears invisible even with a reasonably lightened alpha channel. I believe the ...

I have avoided ever having all the issues listed here and I use jpg capture all the time. Suppose the reason lies in me using the fullscreen mode?

Re: Need help, would like to make different Galactic Models...
I am currently working on a galactic model using the software rendered galaxies and stars plotted using Rassilon's Cluster Generator. I have no place to post screen shots currently, nor do I have a way yet to make available my work until I find a rather cheap method of doing so. As soon as I can an...

I have to admit myself that the celestia version is better than the originals. Add the clouds Fridger and you would indeed have a superb model.

Re: A Taste of TextureFoundry: Mars with blue haze and spec
I do want those textures for my Celestia but I fear my feeble 56k wont handle the download well. I will look into this DXT compression and try my hand at making my own. Where would one such as I find this 16k mars texture Pixel?
