Re: Apparent diameter of Moon from Earth incorrect
Indirectly on-topic: To help avoid arguments of mis-sized objects, couldn't Celestia draw more flexible grids? I mean, every (float) "n" degrees or so, so (at least in Celestia) we could measure in degrees instead of "in fingers"?

Re: changes in orientation while ctrl-left-mouse-drag
Haha, I'm sorry. It's not that easy. But I guess that making it configurable would be the easiest and most flexible solution. "Therefore, the best" I might add. Thanks.

Re: changes in orientation while ctrl-left-mouse-drag
Nice point. I don't like it either. :-D My configuration is a 2-button mouse under Windows environment. For some reason, I'm used to get near or far objects by holding down both buttons and dragging. Clicking and unclicking is not an option, since it isn't that easy to click both buttons _exactly_ a...

Re: changes in orientation while ctrl-left-mouse-drag
However I never encountered it, probably because I use the mouse in a somewhat different way: I simply let the buttons go, reposition the mouse (without lifting it) and then start again. Does this work for you? I didn't get what you mean by "reposition the mouse without lifting it". I guess that wo...

Re: changes in orientation while ctrl-left-mouse-drag
I can't quite confirm that (normal mouse). I find it very difficult also to get closer or farther without canging orientation, specially that when I need to lift the mouse up to reposition it, the mouse registers some jumps horizontally and it blows it up. While I find it more accessible, I think it...

Re: Celestia 1.3.1 is available
Thanks, I'll try that. You can also get a daily snapshot here . In addition to 1.3.1 it includes an updated handbook (1.3.1 vs 1.3.0) and a new location page in the configuration dialog. Just after I posted as Guest , I tried the celestia-cvs.tatest tarball, and couldn't find the file either. :(

Moon's size from Earth's surface and viceversa.
I post it as a bug, though not sure if it is. Say I go to Earth at 0.2km altitude and then I look at the moon. I'm not able to see the moon as seen from here. In my opinion it should look bigger. Don't know how much, though. From another point of view (literally ;)), I try to imagine myself in the M...
