I think people interested in VTs should try out the new TexTools from Fridger, available at CM ; with a bit of practice you should be able to get some optimized VTs on poles, what is a great improvement... I see the OSX version of TexTools is 'coming soon'.. Sounds pretty cool, I'll keep my fingers...

I too am running OSX, and had no problem installing ImageMagick from source code. Most folks are not used to using command line tools, so it might be a bit new to them. It works great, though!
