Re: Celx script that displays RA/Dec for observer
Nevermind, I finally found a way to do it, rotating "rot" 90 degrees around y. Vincent, do you have a last name you can send by private message? I'm using this script in my thesis and I want to give you credit :) In case anyone cares (sorry for the crappy coding): -- Title: Display current...

Re: Celx script that displays RA/Dec for observer
I'm trying now to display the quaternion of the observed point, like the quaternion a spacecraft would use. I'm a bit confused about the coordinate system here. From what I understand, "rot" is a rotation from vector LOOK ==(0,0,-1) to the observation vector. How could I get a quaternion t...

Re: Celx script that displays RA/Dec for observer
I'm interested in modifying this script to display RA and DEC of the *observed* direction. I'm new to celestia scripting, could someone give me a hint in order to do it? edit: I changed local rot = earth:getposition():orientationto(obs:getposition(), LOOK) * base_rot for local rot = obs:getorientati...

Harvard Reference Number view/search
Hi! I'm looking for a way to search and view the Yale Bright Star Catalogue HR number of the stars. I currently have to look for them in google sky or MS Worldwide telescope, get their name and then search on celestia, as you can see, it would be nice to have that built in in celestia. Currently one...

How could I get star positions out of a celestia image
I guess since you guys of this subforum know well the core of this fine application, you might be able to help me... I'm trying to make a star tracker. I'm in an early stage, and I was trying to use celestia as a simulator for the software I was writing. I'm trying to get the information for each st...

Which Star Catalogue does Celestia use?
I'd like to know the name of the catalogue Celestia uses, or at least what is the precision of the location of a star on the celestial sphere, that is, as viewed from earth.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
