Re: Tips for formulating help requests

Intel Core i7-2600 CPU - 16 GB RAM - 64-bit OS - Celestia ver 1.6.1 I’ve created a spacecraft .cel file with 82 spacecraft, and I’m having a problem with 6 of them. For reasons unknown to me the Cassini, Curiosity, Giotto, ISS, Juno, and Vostok 1 do not appear. When the craft is called, there is mov...

Forum "Last Post"

Just wondering - I opened up the Celestia Users forum and can't figure out why the first topic listed is dated 2013? Not only that, but the 2013 post is followed by a 2012 post, which is followed by a 2009 post, and naturally that is followed by a 2007 post before a 2017 post finally shows up. It wo...

Re: spacecraft.ssc

I downloaded the file from Celestia Motherlode > spacecraft > earth orbit. In the International Space Station, clicking on the "The ISS in various configurations", in the comments section the first comment tells of editing the spacecraft.ssc in the data folder. I moved the .jpg files from ...

spacecraft.ssc

I tried to install an updated version of the ISS. It instructed me to update the spacecraft.ssc in the data folder, trouble is, I have no spacecraft.ssc in my data folder. I running Celestia 1.6.1 - is there supposed to be a spacecraft.ssc or not? If so, where can I get the download?

Re: Welcome to restored Celestia Forums

It was a very bad day when the Forum disappeared - so naturally - it was a great day so welcome it back. I don't yet know who you are, but I for one appreciate what you've done. Thank you

cel & win 7

I transferred by .cel files from my XP computer over to my new Win 7. When I tried to open the .cel files I received the error message saying Windows needed to know what created the file. I tried to convince it to use Celestia.exe to open them, but evidently that wasn't what the system wanted to hea...

understanding ssc

What in the .ssc controls the view of a spacecraft? Sometimes the craft comes into view upside down, and people have asked my why I did it that way. It seems there are almost as many differences in the .ssc files as there are spacecraft. Liberty Bell 7 has lines of "RotationPeriod", "...

Re: tumors on objects

I searched and searched and finally found the bad guy. It's a download called "Major Asteroids 1.3.2 Zip", by Jestr, dated 3/14/2005. I tried searching for the individual files and deleting them, but ended by blowing everything up and starting over with a new download of 1.6.1 I want to th...

Re: tumors on objects

Selden, what I did was I downloaded the 1.6.1 version to a brand new flash drive, copied my old add-ons (extras, textures, data, and models), that to the best of my knowledge where working perfectly, to the flash drive and went from there. When I started the 1.6.1 "Navigation - Solar System Bro...

tumors on objects

In 1.6.1 (Navigation - Solar System Browser) Mercury, Metis, Adraster, and Thede, at that point I figured I went far enough, these bodies have tumors growing out of two sides. Has there been a correction for this problem that I missed??? Any solution would be appreciated.... eafbsd
