Re: The splash screen font sucks !
rthorvald, that is genius! But I think your font selection could be better, perhaps in a non-italic bold helvetica  And I'm not sure that's the best selection of all possible hues of hot pink (maybe I need to adjust my monitor) The scorpion spider makes me think of Scorpius, which I'm sure was...

Re: Apollo 11 mission reconstruction - a teamwork
Yes I suppose I have some catching up to do on old forum posts. But I have no law degree nor product, so not soliciting for clients nor advertising sales. Surely Herr Fridger jokes with me that Voltaire's mindset was of Western origin and unfamiliar to the Old World of Europe and Celestia's develope...

Re: Apollo 11 mission reconstruction - a teamwork
Don't get me wrong, I'm seeing some brilliant work, very nice detail. But I'd hate for someone to get so bogged down in detail that they get tired of this project and don't finish (which I've done myself when I got too bogged down on detail & accuracy). Remember that saying, "Perfect is the enem...

Re: The splash screen font sucks !
Well I've done some logos for companies, but I did it pro bono. A professional is by definition someone who does what they do for a fee or compensation. By that definition I guess I'm not a professional. Whether to dot an "i" or make it skinny or thick... egads, I wish I had that much time. Lunesta....

Re: The splash screen font sucks !
Some of you folks are plain crazy. If you don't fancy a splash, create one yourself, or modify what's been presented. You'll find creating a good one isn't so easy, even when you know what you like. I've created tons of them for MS Flight Simulator. One fellow created a program which changes the spl...

Re: Apollo 11 mission reconstruction - a teamwork
Here is a detailed Apollo 11 groundtrack from 4200 Ft altitude down to landing. It was compiled by looking at overheap photos of the landing area and the video filmed from Buzz Aldrin's window. I matched up the craters I saw out the window with the same craters on the maps. It's about as close as yo...

Re: Apollo 11 mission reconstruction - a teamwork
Hmm, a very interesting project. I'd suggest you try Ron Monsen's Eagle Lander 3D as an inspiring distraction when you get tired. It's a great simulator. You're looking for very minute detail, yet I'm not sure if that much detail is really necessary? At the same time, you miss obvious things, like t...

Re: High Resolution Rendering?
Good idea, I hope it will be able to be implemented in Celestia one day. Kinda reminds me of that idea Al Gore had... to put a satellite in near-geosynchronous orbit, just staring back at the Earth, with the idea that anyone could look at our planet in hi-res detail, in color, at any time of the day...

Re: Photosynth (Seadragon)
The video is like 7 min 42 seconds long, but one of the most impressive and amazing displays of future technology I've ever seen. I can't wait for the future.
