Re: Gas giant upper atmosphere
John Whatmough did a good job in depicting exoplanets;
http://www.extrasolar.net/planettour.as ... anetId=158
Gas giants in the habitable zone will probably have skies similar to Earth's (so the Bespin's sky is depicted correctly).

Re: Ancient Mars Texture! Warning Large Images Inside!
m1omg, I only have the texture made in its earliest stages. So its far from ready for mass consumption. As soon as Terraformed MArs is finished, this is the next in line. I have alot of craters to remove. Don. Edwards Can you please send this version to me?It is very good already. My email: ...

Re: my first system(large images)
m1omg, Celestia uses the bolometric temperature of the system's star to calculate the approximate blackbody temperature of a body at that position. It does not attempt to calculate any greenhouse effect. The creator of an Addon would have to make the appropriate adjustments to orbital parameters. I...

Re: my first system(large images)
Good, but why the temperature of the blue watery planet is more than boiling point of water even w/o atmosphere?
And also the temperature of the green-blue planet is above the runaway greenhouse threshold.

Re: (Worldbuilding)My first planet
What would be the atmospheric parameters for such a world?
And, also, how to make that planet tidally locked?

Re: space dome addon
I think a good addon idea would be a space dome greenhouse ... Like this, perhaps? Re: space dome addon
I put a few space domes on the OA asteroid add-on http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/2391/gandhi2px.th.jpg and I have made an unreleased version for the Moon, seen here http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/5316/moonbase44uv.th.jpg With Selden's moonship in the foreground. Small brown dwarfs and planemos
Celestia is a great program, but why I cannot fing any nearby recently discovered BDs and planemos, like OTS 44, Cha 110913-773444 , or ULAS J0034-00 ( http://www.gemini.edu/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=232 )? Are you planning to add them in the next distribution or are there any ad...

Why?
The waterworld with the same insolation as Earth will be very hot, this is A VERY GOOD FIND!

Re: Why are all tidelocked habitable planets in OA hab. only ..?
Actually, John, I think you were at OA before me, by several months. I haven't has much time for worldbuilding recently, being mostly concerned with illustrating and updating the site and writing the Starlark serial (part II coming soon!) Twilight worlds would be more likely at the outer edge of th...

Howto edit stars?
Can somebody please tell me that how can I change stars's parameters?
I want to change Sun's parameters to that when it will be subgiant.

Re: Earth without oceans
What about creating a future Venuslike bone dry Pangea Earth map?
That would be more realistic, because the continents will eventually merge and because the Sun is brightening the Earth will dry out and it will have a dense runaway greenhouse atmosphere.
