Re: Celestia 1.7.0 for OS X available here
Hello,
I am using Celestia on both Windows and Linux, and it is always difficult to build Celestia with two different GUI. There are many GUI for Celestia (Visual C++, Mac, GTK, QT)
Maybe we can go to qt5 that will bring the same interface and generation scripts on all the target systems.

We need a valid/active svn address. Send me a PM, we can talk about this.

Re: Welcome to restored Celestia Forums
Hello again Celestia ! I am working for the french agency CNES and we are using Celestia as the 3D COTS of our software VTS ( http://www.timeloop.fr/vts/en ). We have done many modifications to the source code that we would like to put back to the main project. Doing this, we have learnt about the C...

Re: Textures in SVN's
Christophe, Martin, An alternative is to add a celx function that sets the textures resolution, such as: celestia:settexturesresolution("medium") This way, you will be able to map this function to any key (including r/R) using your start.celx script. Does this sound reasonable? Vincent, I...

Great feature!
It will also be usefull to see spacecrafts' trajectories from a ground station.

Re: Celestia UI redesign
A tree-based solar system browser would indeed be useful. But should it be integrated with the star browser, as Christophe has done in the KDE version? There's a logic to doing it that way. On the other hand, the spaceflight professionals using Celestia would I think prefer a dedicated solar system...

Re: Open Source
Paolo, My company is working for the french space agency CNES. I installed Celestia on several computers there. We made a real-time interface that allow Celestia to display positions and attitudes that come from a simulator. Since professionals' feed-back is enthousiastic, it has been decided to go ...

Re: Newbie Q about planetarium warping
Mark,
I'm not really sure of my answer, but I think the dual display does not depend on Celestia or any other application but on your display card/system (like when you use a video projector with a laptop).
Anyway, please find a solution to make Celestia available in your dome...

Code: Select all
make[3]: *** No rule to make target `Celestia.dsw', needed by `all-am'. Stop.
Don't know where to post that: CVS seems broken under Linux today. Removing 'Celestia.dsw' from src/Makefile.am seems to solve.

Re: Inverting background and making schemes?
Imy, I don't know how difficult is it to add this function to Celestia, but if you don't have too much schemes to produce, maybe you can just post invert your Celestia pictures with Paint or something equal. Here's an example. Mathieu http://www.mjoubert.net/downloads/invert.jpg

Re: Spacecrafts from CNES
Sorry guys, I don't have so much time to answer... Just know that all objects are separated (Body, solar panels, 9 antennas' elements) and all of them are Celestia ssc objects. Each object is ScriptedOrbit with a real-time connection to a simulator. Protocol is quite simple since every object wait i...

Linux static compilation
Hi all, I'm looking for an option or something like that to compile Celestia on Linux with no link to the installation path. The aim is to make the result of this compilation movable. Example : ./configure --prefix=/as/to/be/an/absolute/path make make install mv /as/to/be/an/absolute/path /another/p...

Re: [solved] Shadow rendering question
Great Chris, that was the answer... I only knew the possibility to switch on the KDE interface (since it's a menu). As I couldn't find this menu on Windows, I thought there was only one choice. Fantastic, everything is working fine know. I also managed to use MeshCenter (instead of a dual objets sys...
