Re: System Maker v1.3

I must apologize for my not leaving any posts. I have been busy with school work and much contemplation. I have decided that System Maker 1.4 is just entirely too big of a quagmire to make it just the way I want it. There are places I need objects and classes that would result in a big enough overha...

Re: Why do we have STCs and SSCs?

Now that is just what I needed. Thanks for the feedback. I will do a little more tweaking of the web page...and now it seems that an STC editor is in order.

Re: Why do we have STCs and SSCs?

BTW....This is probly getting anoying to hear but I thought it is worth mentioning I do have a program that helps with writing ssc files maybe I should consider making one to help with stars as well any thoughts?? System Maker v1.4 has been hard to find but I finally got around to redisigning the do...

Re: Why do we have STCs and SSCs?

I will agree with the idea that stars and planets should be at least able to be defined in the same file. However I would keep the stc file for instances where defining a star or group of stars is all you want to do. Secondly...and this is probly off topic but.....What about those puffy things that ...

Finally!!!!

Ok gang its finally in there. It may not be sexy but it works. The new orbit calculator window is finished. Just keep in mind that all fields required for calculations must have values. The numbers it comes up with do not take in to consideration alot of misc variants like solar wind, binary star ef...

Re: System Maker New version soon

You know the women that cost us a rib when we couldnt afford the ones that cost an arm and a leg. Anyhow...I just recently added some to the star attribute side of the project. Be patient dear friends ... you see now where this is headed. Ive got all my ducks lined up with the misc object data block...

Hey Krue

Well, from what Ive read, in order to find a stable orbit in an n-body situation, and i will stress this is not a solve all just a foot in to find a stable orbit of some kind...any kind, is some sort of collision detection between the stars fashioned by calculating the roche radius and limit. Howeve...

Re: System Maker New version soon

Hey guys im back....ok its come down to this. I will add an orbital stability calculator for single and binary systems. However it appears that the trinary sytems will be difficult. Without having to tackle the n-body problem I can calculate the stable orbit around a single star at a time. There are...

uhhhhhhhhggggg!!!!

Ok, I will admit I may have overstated my understanding of the math behind an orbital stability calculator of binary and trinary star systems. However I refuse to let this detour me from tackling it. For now it might be in the interest of all who use the software to develope at least a single star o...

Yes

In the lituature Ive written on the subject of the program I have referred to "The big guns". This reference is to a number of tools that I plan to add which includes an orbit stability calculator. However along with the reference to "the big guns" I also stress it will take time. Im not very good a...
