I haven't been here in so long! I thought this place died years ago.
It's wonderful to see it alive and kicking.

YAY it works now, thank you.
Unfortunately I don't know how to use it since it's command line.

It's a shame that we do not yet have the technology to send a probe to aCen. with a trip time of 20 years or less.

I cannot get it to work. It first says I need cygwin1.dll and once I have that it gives me another error code...
The procedure entry point_ctype_ptr__could not be located in the dynamic link library cygwin1.dll.

These are reasonable rules but sometimes I forget where I get a mesh from. What do I do in that case?

Re: Inexplicable severe drop in framerates
UPDATE: I figured that my current project (the one involving my short story), may have been causing the drop in framerates, so I moved the entire project's folder to a temporary location outside of the Celestia directory, but I retained the VT's I was using for areas around me I know in my personal...

Mathmatica gave me a nose bleed trying to learn how to use it. I had to ask Fridger to teach me how to just enter an equation into it.

Re: Placing an object on a planetary surface
I've tried using the Edit Mode to get the right Orientation values, but it's no good since Celestia doesn't seem to be able to create the align.log file. For Celestia to create the align.log file you have to start it via command prompt. Start Celestia with this added string celestia --verbose >alig...

These were rendered in Vue. :) http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b322/Reiko1/scary1.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b322/Reiko1/spookyworld1.jpg The landscapes can be converted to a format usable in Celestia but I'm afraid I have not figured out how to port the atmospheric effects.

I never understood why the Enterprise-B and Lakota were not standard Excelsiors. Surely they could have found a way to create damage on the Enterprise-B using the original excelsior model without having to add those ugly side attachments.

Why is anybody getting angry over this? I love star trek very much but agree the post your pictures thread was too flooded with the star trek theme and was drowning everything else out. The fact some members have pointed this out is no reason to get upset. Good idea making a separate star trek threa...

Re: Spaceship out of Milky Way?
Instead of a star you can define a barycenter so no starlight will be shining on the ship. That way the falcon can be silhouetted against the galaxy in the background and illustrate the empty dark void of intergalactic space.
