Re: My new NVIDIA FX-5900 Ultra/256 MB DDR super card!
Finally someone from nVidia decided to produce 256 MB version of the card... Congratulations, I hope you gonna enjoy Celestia more than any of us... for some time of course. I'm very curious about the extra large textures. When you make screenhots of 32k textures combined with other textures, post i...

Re: Celestia CD & DVD Back-Up Covers.
But you did give anyone permission to edit the covers, in the original post. Of course, those were only my remarks. You change them if you think its neccesary, but you don't have to. Others are not so hair-splitting like I am on these matters. Maybe I'm gonna prepare more covers very shortly, as so...

Re: Celestia CD & DVD Back-Up Covers.
Darkmiss, thanks for putting my covers here. However, I have to put some remarks considering your graphical intervention. 1. I used HumansBT 521 font, so it would be logical to use it on added content. You' ve used some other font, and that results cover to look messy and not consistent with its ori...

Re: Wildcat VP990 Pro - monster grafic card for Celsestia ?
I wondered how would Celestia work on powerful graphic workstations and professional graphic cards like 3D labs Oxygene or WildCat. I thimk it should work very impressive. If only they have DDS compression support (or they already have?), where would it all go? :) I would like one of them form my co...

Re: What about TERRESTIA... or something like that??
I installed EarthViewer 3D by NVIDIA recently in hope it will be something technically very advanced, but I regret it. This program is, unlike Celestia, very ugly, slow and user-unfriendly. I wouldn't install it even if it was freeware, but noooo, I have to pay for it. This is just one more evidence...

It's not a web-bot, i think. We got similar posts on our forum in Croatia a week ago, on Croatian language, with different subjects, there is no way this is automated operation.
Chris should delete it all.

Re: New shallow water dds
Thanks bh!
I thought it would be the answers. I actually can't see the difference beetween Don's and Fridger's 8k textures.
Jim,
I know the basics with texture compression, so your note will do.
Thanks!

Re: New shallow water dds
I'm using it right now, I like it very much, although a liked the old 4k better, because this one isn't so blue. It concerns my question you said you will answer me - does this version comes from edited standard 8k texture from TexFoundry? And one more question: why are new 8k textures 40 Megs in si...

tk274,
just one note: I'm still not a profssional, I'm just a student, so technically, I have no right to criticize anything, but, as I wrote before, I think I should warn. I perfectly understand your enthuziasm and your aim in this.

this is the one that I like more, very good... the link of my last post seems to be wrong, here is the good one http://www.guerrestellari.net/fanart/gio/celestiacover2.jpg What I wanted to say, is that I have done a lot of thinking about telling people mine judgment of their work, and I also sicuss...

Re: Celestia Custom CD Covers
I must make a comment and criticize this cover, I know much about designing covers... I feel I have to, but if you like the cover, it's your taste and you can freely skip this post... I promise I'll give arguments for every comment! 1. There are to many elements in inlogical composition: there's Ear...

Re: Celestia logo
Hmmm... I'm not quite sure if you understand the definition of logo... Logo is a symbol in a graphic or text that associates the product to us. It must be very simple and almost brought to abstraction, certainly not an image with different motifs like galaxies or space probes, because those things a...

Celestia logo
I know I'm already iritating with this unuseful stuff (like CD covers), but I think it would be nice for Celestia to has its own logo, although it's not a comercial product and doesn't need copyrighted protection in this way... I'm working on something, it will soon be finished. Evereyone who has so...

Re: New shallow water dds
I like your shallow blue texture the most, but I'm bothered that you don't have 8k version. I hope this would be 8k... if it is, I'm putting it as soon as you make avaible for downoload! I hope I didn't confused the textures you're editing: this is still the very blue texture, right? Or you're editi...

Re: What Would Mars Truely Look Like With Water!
Jango Fett, It is true that most of the blue color of Earth’s oceans are from reflected sky, but of course not 100%. The surface water can difuse light somewhat and this helps to impart a little color to the whole as well. Mars would of course develop similar conditions. ... Earths ocean water isn'...

Re: What Would Mars Truely Look Like With Water!
Don, I totally agree with you about Mars' atmosphere. Mars atmosphere is red and yellow partialy because of dust and sand lifted high with strong winds on Mars' surface. We must take in consideration that Mars has weaker gravitational force than earth, so all processes caused by winds lift dust and ...

Very nice!
There's also one think someone should think about. What about theory that Mars' atmosphere isn't red, but blue?

Re: "Yet Another New Earth Cloud Map Texture, This Time 4K"
Hey and they don't look mountains. I will have to check into Photo-Paint 11. I am sure there is probbly a filter or plugin for Photoshop that can do bumpmaping as well. Its just finding it and how much it will cost. I do hate the idea of trying to learn yet another image editing program. I just got...
