Thanks! It's strange that everything I downloaded from ftp://ftp.dasmirnov.net/astronomy/celes ... ures/pixel has the same "CRC error". so I guess it might not be real CRC error.

I downloaded "earth16k.dds" and add it to the configuration file. I started the program again and earth looks like a mess with colored grid all over. I am complete newbie looking for help: If I use DDS file as texture, then there is no need to use another bump map file in the "solar.ssy"? Does DDS files already have bump map in them already?
