Re: x64 conversion glitches.
Is there any particular reason that 32- and 64-bit versions can't coexist? It's probably just a compiler switch. I've seen any number of programs do this for the past 10+ years now.

Re: 1.5.1 on Solaris 9
Haven't had a chance to get back to this yet. Been trying to fix problems with my toolchain to get some other projects working...john Van Vliet wrote:ChristTrekker have you got it working ?

1.5.1 on Solaris 9
Anybody have difficulty building this (besides me)? I'm using GCCfss 4.2.0. I get to the build of asterism.o in celengine before it dies. In file included from ../celengine/selection.h:15, from ../celengine/frame.h:16, from ../celengine/observer.h:21, from ../celengine/octree.h:18, from ../celengine...
year 0
Does Celestia still use a year 0 rather than jumping from 1 BC to 1 AD?

Re: NetBSD?
It's in the pkgsrc system now. Maybe I just missed it before.

Re: TNG Warp Drive (RELEASE)
Geek that I am, I've often felt that the biggest thing Celestia was lacking was a WF mode for the velocity display.
Does this support old/TOS/cube warp factors too?

They just recalibrated the warp scale. Again. Maybe they are using a new "warp" technology by then.

Don't watch the show. What exactly did they do?

NetBSD?
Just curious if anybody is using/developing Celestia on NetBSD. I thought I might have a go at building it, and was wondering if there are any peculiarities I need to consider.

Re: crash zooming on Phobos from start location at earth
1) Which third-party Mars-related add-ons you might be using None, this was a "stock" install. Well...I might have had some add-ons from 1.3.2. Would those still be around on my system? IIRC the only add-ons I've ever used were additional stars, though. I'll try to address the other two points soon.

crash zooming on Phobos from start location at earth
I have a stock dual 1.8 G5 tower. This happened twice in a row, when getting just about to the point where I thought I might be able to see Phobos as a dot (i.e. Mars was filling the viewport). Here's what was sent to Apple. Date/Time: 2006-06-23 08:58:16 -0500 OS Version: 10.3.9 (Build 7W98) Report...
