Re: New Extrasolar Planets
How about instead of posting them all here, just put them in an ssc file and have it distributed with the final release of celestia? You should read post completely  These planets will be in the 1.3.1 release of Celestia . . . Here are the planets definitions you can add to extrasolar.ssc if ...

Re: Star system apparence
That would be realy nice thank !!
Could you by the way try, if it's not too much work for you, make avariable a star class (like planet and moon) making a star orbit an other.
With the above bug fixed, we would be able to see binary star from earth...

Star system apparence
Well I noticed a problem while looking at the new "HD 41004" system. When seen from a distance of ~40AU, the all planetary system disapear when the point of view approach the nearest star... I suspect that celestia can only display one stelar system at a time. Why not making more than one avariable ...

Re: New Extrasolar Planets
When I went to look at HD 41004, I found a K2 V with two jupiter like 'b' planets orbiting it, and no sign of an M dwarf or brown dwarf. One was 0.8 AU from the K2 dwarf, the other was 0.856 AU from the K2 dwarf. I made a file called 'new_extrasolar.ssc', copied what you wrote, and put that in my e...

Re: New Extrasolar Planets
Maybe a silly question but, why does the first star of the list named "HD 104985" is called "HD 41004" in celestia ?

Re: Miror website of AstroBoy
I think that with a little smoothing of the edges the results should be outstanding. In fact, this galaxy is a 3D model and not a flat model (like Helix), so smoothing the edge is not possible nor making them tranparent as the transparency effet isn't very beautifull. So I'll probably darkened a li...

Re: ICE (International Cometary Explorer) xyz's & model
I recently discovered a page called HelioWeb on the NSSDC giving Heliocentric coords for various old spacecraft.
Does it has Giotto encounter with Halley ?
You're doing a great work !! I really like to see past an present misson (with related 3d mesh).

Re: Feature Requests
I have a few requests too : 1) Animated texture (.gif, .mpg ,or .avi). I think about animated cloud for jupiter or the earth, or the surface of the sun (in loop mode) and formation of the earth and the moon. 2) An "always face the camera mode" for 3ds model. Making nebula looking the same in every d...

Re: Ring casting shadow
Well, as I see I have to live without it !! It's not an important feature, I think that I'll survive  FWIW, some months ago, Chris "threatened" that he might add some new eye-candy features that'd only be visible on the FX series. Will there be picture post with those, just to see what I miss ...

Re: Ring casting shadow
1) make sure you have "ring shadows" selected in the "Render" "View Options" menu Yes, it is. When activate I can see planet shadow on the ring. 2) Type "Control-V" several times to toggle among the "Render Path" optons to see which paths your graphics drivers support. To see shadows on the planet ...

By the way, there's a new version of the "Abell 39" nebula. Now outside of the nebula appear in front of the inside.
