Re: Motherlode Peer Group Review
The reason I hesitate is that I can add the necessary code for those who do NOT know how to create the SSC files, and I can also explain the installations. Should I do this, or simply DELETE the offending add-ons? I like the ideea of deleting old and outdated addons but if the textures are aligned ...

Re: Good addons vs. bad addons
OK guys so bad addond was not such a good term to use, how about accurate vs. not so accurate? That whold not put any addon creator on a blacklist just becouse the addon is outdated. I think anybody who is downloading the addon shuld know how accurate it is. I got here the Jupiter and moons page fro...

Good addons vs. bad addons
I've been having some problems with some addons, some of the texture addons place the textures incorectly, and some of the rocks orbiting Saturn are a little mistplaced by comparing them with the ones allready in Celestia. I am asking if someone with more knowledge in the subject can make a list of ...

Re: Expanding celestia_print...
My english is limited so please be patient I thought Celestia needs more developers who can offer their free time for improving this software instead all i see is newcomers being harassed. I understand all of you have done a great deal so far but you should let other at least try to expand or even i...

Re: Selden's Galaxy map with sprites
I think thet if you add a different texture instead of a blured dot
Or by making the nebulae fully opaque you can get the result you want
EDIT
Only the blobs with exactly the same color and opacity melt together

Re: Selden's Galaxy map with sprites
Is there any depth sorting problems with this rendering ? I can not identify any problem, i dont see it from a programmer's perspective Can you feel the farthest blob *behind* the close ones ? Not realy, all of them have the same opacity and when the sprites get one in front of another they look li...

Re: Selden's Galaxy map with sprites
I just love the additive blending effect: I made no modifications to the dsc declaration and the FOV is the default value http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/6807/pic1hb9.th.jpg http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/8458/pic3bu8.th.jpg http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/1832/pic4eq9.th.jpg http://img80.images...

Re: Problem with add-on
Just asking... Has anybody (other then the addon creators) tried to make some modifications to the addons in the Motherlode? Maybe organize them? (make multiple single objects out of addon packs) I know about the authors rights but if they dont care about them anymore why shuld the addons lay there ...

Re: Celestia 1.5.0pre3
- Added blend type to cmod materials: additive and normal alpha blending are supported.
Can somebody tell me how do i declare this in the cmod file?
I only know about "blend add" and i dont have any clue if this adds additive blending or normal alpha blending

Could this show colors of galaxies?
I just downloaded the M42 nebula in galaxy rendering from the forum http://celestiaproject.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10543 So instead of adding the definition in deepsky.dsc and the png template to the models folder i made an addon and started Celestia. The nebula looked more like a blue gas instead...

Re: Very Nice NGC 1097
With some contrast and a grayscale efect some pictures of galaxies can be turned into galaxy templates
ex: M 33
But with a loss of quality even on 512X512 resolution
