I saw the eclipse live, though here only the 84% of the Sun was covered.
Now the next total eclipse that will pass from here ( Greece ) will be in ... 2088. I will be in the young age of ... 118 years old

Re: Ok if this isnt weird, then what is?!
:D Thats true. Celestia alone would seem like a miracle if you compare it with what commodore 64 and other 8bit computers could offer. I remember one small program on the 48K Spectrum i had ( i was a Speccy owner :D ) that calculated the Halley comet movement - you just gave your location on Earth a...

As to optical camouflage we didn't have to wait for the University of Toyo photo: animals can do it much more perfectly since thousands and thousands of years... Yes of course they can ( many times very succesfully too ) but i didnt expected to see human clothes with such abilities ever ... This is...

Just saw "Contact"
What a great movie. I guess i will buy the book also. One line from the movie stuck to my mind. Someone asks Dr.Arroway what would ask a "Vegan" if she could make to him just one question. She replies that she would ask him how they manage to evolve and how they passed their technological immaturity...

the warhammer 40K universe
Is anyone here interested in strategy games and particular to Warhammer 40.000? :) I do play warhammer and i would find it interesting to see a earth texture based on some warhammer 40K fictional map ( those who know some things about the warhammer 40K fiction know that the earth in the warhammer un...

Re: Otherworldly life
What do i believe about life in other places in the universe? I doubt that we are "alone" in this vastness of the universe, but i dont know if we will ever come in contact with anyone... Isnt it a bit depressing? With our imagination / science fiction we dream travels to other stars, contacts with o...

I was viewing the "tour of venus" script and in the end i remember that it said that the planet is a "good example of a runaway greenhouse effect" - this means that our planet can became like venus? By polluting the atmosphere only? If this can happen ( and i suppose that if scientists say that it c...

Cannot make the "Star wars" addon to work
I downloaded from the celestia motherload the model for a imperial star destroyer and a X-wing. When i opened the .zip files inside the readme files said that i needed to download and install Thomas Guilpain's 'Star Wars' addon first. I downloaded it and istalled it, but i still cannot see anything ...
