Re: Celestia in Launchpad
Switching to a new project host isn't going to magically produce new users or developers for Celestia. Moving to LaunchPad would require dropping Subversion and using the Bazaar version control system instead. I'm not sure that this is such a good idea. Are the client tools for Bazaar as well devel...

Re: Celestia in Launchpad
Seems like Celestia is already added as a project to Launchpad. and funny enough, it has a bug report. Maybe it's a real bug.. Atleast take a look at it.. https://bugs.launchpad.net/celestia/+bug/259700 speedrate.patch This is an actual bug in Celestia, not Ubuntu. I found on my Slackware system, th...

Re: NEW ADDON : Political borders on Earth
Cham, do you use a fresh build with your borders and tectonic files? I ask because on my config, since Earth now use some CustomOrbit and CustomRotation the borders are not any more aligned... Do you confirm such problem? I can confirm that there is a problem with the alignment. Is the degree of mi...

Celestia in Launchpad
Wouldn't it be cool to add Celestia in launchpad? That might result in some new users, or even better, some new coders.

A Stellar Explosion You Could See on Earth!
Astronomers are familiar with seeing amazing things through their telescopes. But nothing prepared them for an incredible explosion detected early Wednesday morning by NASA?€™s Swift satellite. At 2:12 a.m. EDT, Swift detected an explosion from deep space that was so powerful that its afterglow was...

Translation help from Launchpad.
Wouldn't it be cool if we could get some help translating celestia to more languages? Celestia could be registered as a project at the launchpad so that everyone that wants to help out with the translations could do it very easy.. Take a look and register here. https://launchpad.net/projects/+new By...

Re: Help cannot replace Sol texture
After updating to 1.5, I too am now experiencing a strange spherical darkness at the center of the sun, the size of which changes depending on which angle you look at it from. I'm using Runar's "A portrait of our sun" add-on. I want to keep the add-on. What is going on? What should I do? It worked ...

Fridger,
don't you have any good ideas how to change this so that it at the same time lays the foundation for your Cosmological Visualization Project ?

I fear there is no way to turn on orbits for stars to show how they orbit its barycenter?
Or am I wrong?
