Re: Pictures from Celestia
I can not speak about games but building cities and making artificial civilizations on exoplanets sounds fun.

Re: Celestia's 20th anniversary
Happy Birthday! I discovered Celestia back in 2013 when I was using Linux Mint 14 and I was searching for a space related software in their software manager. However, the development of the program was not very active back then and I quickly moved on. Fortunately, I saw that the development r...

Did your memory usage increase after rising the scale to 128K and if yes, by how much?
PS: Amazing textures as always!

Re: Celestia 1.6.2 is out
Even though it's just a bug fix release, it's changelog is quite impressive. I waited this version for 7+ years and I'm glad to see it released, well done to everyone!

Re: Pictures from Celestia
Albeit it currently cannot be implemented into Celestia due to load times and RAM usage. That's true, but the Gaia Sky software can handle it very easily, so I think Celestia 1.7 or 2.0 will be able to do it someday. I don't know about you but GaiaSky was lagging a lot on my machine so I uninstalle...

Re: Pictures from Celestia
John, while watching this pictures I almost imagine that I'm there - flying over the atmosphere of Mars!
It's amazing that Celestia can handle this. However, 22 GB just for a single planet texture is a overkill IMO.

What a monster PC configuration you have there? This is amazing both as a quality of the image and resolution size.

Re: New bugfix release 1.6.2-beta1
Looks OK here. I'm using Windows 7 SP1 64 bit.
Anything more specific to look for? Beta 3 was working as intended for me.

Re: Celestia 1.7.0 Development Thread
I'm curious what happened with the Bintray releases recently? Can we have newer test releases again? I don't really know which is the latest version currently, there are a bunch of newer exe files in this topic. The builds have failed recently, thats why we haven't had any new releases on Bintray. ...

Re: New bugfix release 1.6.2-beta1
I don't want to be that guy but I'm curious to ask what are the release blockers for 1.6.2 so far? In my opinion if no serious bugs are found (or the existing bugs are not critical) this version should be released. If there are any leftovers you can always create 1.6.3 for example. I'm not i...

Re: How to get goodies for a fresh Celestia 1.6.2 install?
Thank you, SevenSpheres, I definitely missed your topic (as I thought). Looks like the installation of the addons is not that hard and by the way you have some gorgeous textures in Project Echoes at first glance. I'm glad to hear that the final version of 1.6.2 will have updated textures, th...

How to get goodies for a fresh Celestia 1.6.2 install?
Well, this is probably a very noob like question and it may sound dumb but where to find and how to add for example new textures, more real life planets, stars or catalogues or even better more galaxies, star clusters, nebulae or exoplanets? Truth is the original Celestia resources are by now very o...

Re: Syntax highlighting of Celestia Catalogs in Notepad++
For anyone who can't find the download link (myself included), the easiest solution is to use the built-in Syntax Highlighting for C, C# and C++.
It works basically the same way.

Re: Celestia 1.7.0 Development Thread
I'm back and I have another question about the translations:
Where are the original and most up to date English versions of the files, located in https://github.com/CelestiaProject/Celestia/tree/master/locale folder?

Re: Celestia 1.7.0 Development Thread
Onetwothree , the translation into Bulgarian language in Transifex is finished (it was a lot of work actually :silenced: ). It's ready for merge, I strive and hope for high accuracy (however this will be tested during the actual usage of Celestia). I will translate the other files later and I would...

Re: Celestia 1.7.0 Development Thread
That's fine, I will do it after the translation of 1.7.0 then. Another question though (or should I open another thread): what is the meaning of string number 62 " Iocaste "? And a suggestion: I saw that the translation file still says "Astana" for the capital of Kazakhstan, howe...
