Re: New fictional planet system in the making
Thanks, I haven't been on the forum for a while, but I've started on making a third world (a moon, actually). I'll see if I can present some pics of that soon.

None of the pole pinches or texture seams have been fixed yet, I'm still working on getting the right appearance for the textures before I get onto that.

Re: How would you rather wake up in the morning?
I chose choice three because the nearest "ocean" of coffee sounds like it would be in a very far away place (possibly a different planet) and therefore it would be hard if not impossible to get back home again, and plummeting through Jupiter's atmosphere sounds like instant death. At least with the...

How would you rather wake up in the morning?
Ok, I've tried to make these funny: Choice One: What A Way To Start The Morning! You wake up to find yourself in your bed, floating in an ocean of coffee with a soggy piece of toast on your head. Now all you need is today's newspaper... Choice Two: Ever Wanted To Be An Astronaut? Be careful what you...

Re: hires, medres, lores?
It all depends on the size and detail of the texture in question. If there is only one version of the texture, it will usually go into the medres directory, if there is a smaller or less detailed version of the same texture for less powerful computers it will go into the lores directory, and if it i...

A new planet to look at:
Now that we have this new big image I may reduce the first planet's pic to a link or a thumbnail to reduce loading time. I'll see if I can change my avatar pic for this new planet as well.![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

I'm probably going to be changing my avatar lots too, for the sake of showing off each new planet I create for my solar system in progress...

I like the name Tisirosyne.
But I think the three blue gas giants look too similar, you might want to alter the colours a bit to give each a little more individuality.

Re: New fictional planet system in the making
The clouds have weird dark edges and don't look particularly cloudlike - the edges look wrong. Well, this planetary system is actually going to be based on an old computer game which I'm quite fond of, the clouds in that game had bluish edges, although not as extreme as mine. The reason why I made ...

New fictional planet system in the making
Hello, I'm announcing a new fantasy solar system I've been working on since Christmas. Below are some various images of the first planet, I'll be sending pics of the other two I've made sometime soon. The first pic: http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/5349/dec309iy.jpg So what do you think? Any comme...

Yeah, the Uber-Nuke Remnants are cool.
Is it from Cham's fictitious nebulae package?

Re: Phoebe from Cyclops, Dec 2005
I like the 16k Enceladus texture. The first B&W image makes it look like quite a desolate place, an appropriate atmosphere for a cratered moon.

Re: Celestia 1.4.0 is ready
Another thanks from me. One thought... depending on my uses, I find I keep needing to reset the preferences a lot. I suspect I could do the same thing by just trashing the preferences file. It'd be nice to have a RESET TO DEFAULT hard-coded but I understand if that's not a priority. I'm not a coder...

Re: Pics of Pisces Centauri
Lots of big images here, maybe you could use thumbnails linking to the larger pictures to reduce loading time. As for the planets, they look like a nice colourful bunch. Interesting rings on many of the gas planets, although Tectonica and Belle Terre look like they could use a little more detail in ...

Re: Mira revisited, my work so far...
An ok addon so far, nice choice of colours, but yeah, the textures could be tweaked with a bit more. The Beta Lyrae addon looks like it will be even better than Mira when finished.

Like others have said, the details in these Mars textures are absolutely fantastic, some of the best I've ever seen.
